Ipe

Handroanthus serratifolius (and related Handroanthus spp., traded as ipe)

Heartwood ranges reddish brown to yellowish/olive brown to dark brown/blackish; sometimes with darker striping; can resemble cumaru.

Ipe is the trade name for several dense South American hardwoods (commonly Handroanthus spp.) known for exceptional hardness and natural durability. It’s frequently used for decking, exterior joinery, and heavy-wear applications; it can be challenging to machine and glue due to density and oily extractives.
