Terms of use

The rules for using this site, posting listings, and behaving decently towards buyers and sellers.

Last updated: May 2026

Accepting these terms

By using Mill & Merchant you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. I may update the terms from time to time — continued use after changes means you accept the new version.

Directory listings

  • Listings are granted at my discretion and must meet the published criteria.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of your profile, stock descriptions, and contact details.
  • Misleading, illegal, or abusive content may be removed without notice.
  • Featured or paid tiers (if offered) are subject to the pricing page and checkout terms at the time of purchase.

Marketplace listings

  • Sellers must own or have the right to sell the items described.
  • Descriptions, photos, and prices should be fair; buyers should exercise normal due diligence before paying.
  • Mill & Merchant is a venue — transactions are primarily between buyer and seller. I may help with obvious misuse or fraud reports but am not a party to your contract.
  • Fees, duration, and boosts are as shown at listing time; Stripe handles card payments where applicable.

User conduct

Don't:

  • Harass, threaten, or spam other users or businesses.
  • Attempt to break, scrape, or overload the site.
  • Upload malware or try to access data you're not entitled to.
  • Misrepresent your identity or your business.

I may suspend access for serious or repeated breaches.

Intellectual property

Site design, branding, and original content belong to Mill & Merchant unless otherwise noted. You retain rights to content you upload, but grant a licence to host and display it as needed to run the service.

Limitation of liability

The site and knowledge content are provided “as is”. I work hard to keep information accurate, but timber behaviour, prices, and regulations change — always verify critical decisions on site. To the extent permitted by law, I'm not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or outcomes of transactions between third parties. Nothing here excludes liability that can't legally be excluded (e.g. death or personal injury caused by negligence).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in that jurisdiction have exclusive competence, unless you're a consumer elsewhere in the UK with non-waivable local rights.
