Orangish-brown fresh, aging to darker reddish-brown; variable between boards; conspicuous yellow mineral deposits can occur and may bleed/stain.

Merbau (Intsia spp.) is a dense Southeast Asian/Pacific hardwood valued for strength, stability, and a rich brown colour with yellow mineral streaking. It’s used for flooring, joinery, and decking; it can be moderately oily and may cause staining/bleeding in some installations.
